PetDeck™ was created after its inventors, who live in Texas, realized that the patented temperature control system first invented for That's Really Cool!™, could be used to keep their pets safe and comfortable all year round.
How Does It Work?
The temperature of outdoor surfaces often exceeds safe limits, even on mild days. PetDeck™ uses an integral heating and cooling system to combat the danger of burns or frostbite by heating or cooling the surface of PetDeck™ to safe temperatures.
Temperature Safety
When your pet is out for a walk with you, they come into contact with surfaces like sidewalks, asphalt, wood decking, mulch, sand, and car surfaces, which reach temperatures extremes very quickly. Temperatures of these surfaces can exceed 63°C/145°F, even on a day that feels mild. Temperature injuries are so common that vets recommend getting booties to protect your pet's paws, and checking the temperature of surfaces before you let your pet step on them.
Aside from paw injuries, pets can easily overheat or get too cold when they're outside. Dogs overheat much more quickly than humans, and can be at risk after normal, everyday activities like a walk in the park. And, even thick-coated dogs are susceptible to colder temperatures. Temperatures that feel relatively mild to humans - around 25°C/77°F and 7°C/45°F - can start to be dangerous for furry companions. PetDeck™ gives pets a place to sit or lie down, where they can be comfortable.
